Players learn to play as a part of a team through participation in games and practices. The organization is open to the youth of Groton, CT and surrounding areas that do not have a youth lacrosse organization.

GMLA Programs
Spring (League) season
GMLA is excited to announce our 2021 Spring Lacrosse Season.
- Allowing our children to return to play safely is our top priority! We will be following all Return to Play guidelines (https://www.uslacrosse.org/return-to-play) from US Lacrosse as well as following the guidance and protocols set forth from our towns and schools. The structure of our season will be fluid and we will adapt as necessary. Things will look and feel differently this year and it will require patience and understanding from parents and players as we accommodate changes to allow our children to continue to play lacrosse.
- Due to Indoor Field capacity requirements, GMLA will not have indoor pre-season training at Mystic Indoor Sports. We have reduced the registration fee accordingly. All teams will begin practices outside in late March / early April (once the Town opens the fields for use).
- If you need equipment, we are hoping to have two Lacrosse Days at Dick’s Sporting Goods – details TBD.
CONNY League: GMLA participates in the CONNY Lacrosse League. The 2021 season now begins in late March (depending on weather!) with games starting in April and ending by mid-June. We expect league play to be more localized this year (playing against teams from surrounding towns) to accommodate State COVID guidance. Depending on your team, practices are generally held weeknights (2 or 3 times per week) at town fields. Games are generally on Saturday or Sunday afternoons with some games during week nights. Normally we register all our teams for at least two tournaments. 2021 may be different – Tournaments may not be allowed, or they may only be smaller regional events. We ask for your flexibility and understanding as we seek to provide the best lacrosse experience we can, while maintaining our players and families safety.
Age Brackets - GMLA follows the CONNY Age brackets. For the 2021 Season, the following cut-offs apply.
